Toy Safety Information

What You Can Do to Protect Your Child

When shopping for toys, look for products made in the U.S.A. There are approximately 217,000 toy related injuries each year. The best way to know if the toys that you are buying are safe for your children is to stay current on what toys have been recalled. To do this, visit the U.S. Product Safety Commission website to see an up-to-date list of toy recalls and to sign up to receive e-mail alerts notifying you of any recalls that happen in the future.

How does Roy Toy help to protect your child?

All toys made by Roy Toy Manufacturing are third-party tested and carry a General Certificate of Conformity as specified in section 14(g) of the Consumer Product Safety Act, 15 U.S.C. § 2063(g). Copies of our certifications are available on our Certified Safe Toys page.

What is lead poisoning?

Lead is a natural element that is present in the environment. It is possible to breathe or swallow lead particles from chips of lead-based paint or contaminated food, water, dust, soil, or other products. Brief or limited exposure to lead-based paint or other sources of lead isn't likely to cause lead poisoning; exposure to even low levels of lead can be harmful over time — especially in children. Although lead poisoning is rarely fatal, it can cause speech, language and behavior problems, poor coordination, and in the most extreme cases, slowed growth along with seizures, as well as permanent brain and kidney damage.

Toy Safety Tips

  1. Before buying a toy make sure that it is age-appropriate for the child's age and skill levels. Age recommendations can be found on product packaging. Read all of the safety information on any warning labels. Concentrate on well-made toys.
  2. Children under the age of 3 years should not be allowed to play with toys that contain small parts.
  3. Remove and throw away any packaging material before giving toy to the child.
  4. Inspect old and new toys on a regular basis for damage.
  5. Carefully read instructions for assembly and use of the toy.
  6. Always supervise children attentively while they play.
Why are Roy Toy's products safe and non-toxic?

We use only food approved dyes on our products. Not only is it morally wrong to contaminate children's toys with lead paint, but in the USA it is illegal. At Roy Toy we take our responsibility to manufacture safe and healthy toys for your children seriously.

More about our dyes: All FD&C dyes used on our toys do not contain allergens. These allergens are defined as the allergenic proteins from the following: crustaceans, eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.
